How to download VyprVPN for iOS in China

Due to a restriction imposed by the Chinese government, the VyprVPN application is not available in the Chinese version of the iTunes store.

Fortunately, VyprVPN is available in other iTunes markets, such as the United States. By creating an iTunes account based in the United States, you can install the VyprVPN app. Follow the steps below to install the app with this method:

1. Go to appleid.apple.com and click Create an Apple ID at the bottom

2. In the account creation form, make sure the region is set as United States. Put in your China mobile number in order to receive the verification code. Click next and put in the verification code. Once verified, the Apple ID should be created

3. In the Apple ID account management page, go to the “Payment and Delivery” section and click “Add a New Payment Method”. Put in US billing info (you can use this online generator: http://www.shenfendaquan.com/)

4. On your iOS device, open the Settings app

5. At the top of Settings, select your profile

6. Select Media and Purchases

7. Log in with the Apple credentials for the account that was just created

8. Open the App Store app and log in with your Apple credentials, and you should be able to install VyprVPN. If the store still shows China content, try restarting the app and log in again

Please note that any apps you downloaded using your original iTunes account will not update while you are logged into the new account you created. Once you have VyprVPN installed, you should log out of the newly created iTunes account and back into your previous one.

Periodically, you should log into the United States iTunes account to update the VyprVPN app so you are always on the most current version.

If you are on a version of iOS lower than 14, you may need to use the steps below to install VyprVPN from within China:

1. Click here to go to the Apple ID creation page using a desktop computer. This cannot be done on a mobile device and/or browser.
2. Change your country to "United States" at the bottom of the page.
   
   
3. Create a new Apple ID using an email address that has not been associated with an Apple ID in the past. Make a new email address for this purpose if necessary.
4. Set up a manual VPN connection using your VyprVPN account on your iOS device, otherwise, you will not see "None" as an option in payment types and you will have to enter US credit card information.
5. On your iOS device, open the Settings app and then go to iTunes & App Store. Log out of your current iTunes account.
   
   
6. Open the App Store and try to download any app. You will be prompted for your iTunes account information. Log in with your newly created iTunes account.
7. You will see a notification stating that the Apple ID has not been used in the iTunes Store yet. Tap the option to Review.
   
   
8. You will be asked to confirm your country or region. Choose United States.
   
   
9. Agree to the Terms of Service, at your discretion. It is required in order to move further in the process.
10. In Account Settings where it asks for Billing Information, choose None.
    
    
11. For the Billing Address section, you will need to use a United States billing address. This can either be a real or randomly generated address. We cannot provide tools or advice on getting a United States address, but a quick online search for relevant keywords should produce results.
12. You should now be able to complete the VyprVPN app download.
