This article assumes you have deployed VyprVPN Cloud on VirtualBox and are ready to configure port forwarding to enable connectivity. If you have not completed that setup, click here.
Bridged Adapter:
If you selected Bridged Adapter on step 9 in the setup article linked above, then you are aware your VM has it's own IP address from your network's DHCP device (router, etc). You will need to forward the ports listed below to that IP address. This is done in your router firmware interface. If you are unsure of how to forward ports in your router, please consult the manual for the device.
TCP 22, TCP 222, TCP 80, TCP 443, UDP 443, UDP 1194, UDP 15001-20000 (optional), UDP 25001-30000 (optional)
Optional ports listed are the ranges for OpenVPN and Chameleon in our VyprVPN apps when using Automatic port selection. You can also opt to not forward those UDP port ranges and manually set the apps to 1194 for OpenVPN 160-bit, or 443 for OpenVPN 256-bit and Chameleon when connecting to your VyprVPN Server.
NAT:
If you selected NAT on step 9 in the setup article linked at the top of the page, then you can forward the same ports listed above to the VirtualBox host machine's internal IP address since the VM is assigned a different private IP not part of your home network's DHCP pool.
To find that IP address on the host machine:
Windows: Open Command Prompt and type in ipconfig. The IPv4 address listed for your active ethernet or wireless adapter (whichever the machine is using for internet connectivity) will be the IP you forward the above ports to in your router.
Mac OSX/Linux: Open Terminal and type in ifconfig. The inet addr entry listed for the adapter being used for internet connectivity will be the IP you forward the above ports to in your router.
