VyprVPN connections use VyprDNS by default. We recommend leaving VyprDNS enabled in the VyprVPN app settings to ensure the best possible security and to prevent DNS leaks.
To check for DNS leaks, please use the steps below:
- Make sure that VyprVPN is not connected
- Run your preferred DNS leak test and take note of the results
- Connect to VyprVPN
- Flush DNS cache from your browser using the steps here
- Run your preferred DNS leak test once more, and compare with the results from before
Note: Due to the way VyprDNS is configured, you may see results in the test that do not appear to be associated with VyprVPN or Certida. As long as you do not see anything in the results that relates directly to you or your ISP, your DNS is not leaking.
