If you find that you can't connect to VyprVPN, there are a few things you can try. Regardless of which operating system your device is using, the steps below will likely help you get connected again:
-
Log out and then back into the VyprVPN app.
- Select the menu icon in the upper left, then select Log out at the bottom
- Log back in using your email and password. If you have VyprVPN through an app store such as Google Play, Apple, or Amazon, you can use the corresponding Log in with button to log in automatically
- If you have trouble logging back in, you can try resetting your password
-
Restart your device.
- Restarting your device can clear up local issues that may have led to connection trouble.
-
Uninstall and then reinstall VyprVPN on your device.
- A simple reinstallation can sometimes clear up connection issues, particularly if the issue began after an update to VyprVPN, or after an update to your device's operating system
- Once uninstalled, reinstall from the VyprVPN apps page or from your device's app store. Log back into VyprVPN and try connecting again.
-
Try other VyprVPN server locations.
- Sometimes, you may find that one server location will be more reliable for you than others. If you don't need a specific VPN server location, try a few others. Servers closest to you will usually work the best.
- If you need to connect to a specific server but can't, please let our support team know so we can look into potential issues with the server(s) that you are having trouble with.
-
Try other VPN protocols.
- In VyprVPN's Customize menu in the lower left, you can change your selected VPN protocol. A VPN protocol is a set of rules that VyprVPN will use to establish and maintain connections to our global network of VPN servers.
- While Wireguard is the default and generally the best protocol to use, certain network conditions may allow a connection using other protocols. Wireguard should always be tried first, but OpenVPN, Chameleon, and IKEv2 are all good alternatives.
- If you find that one protocol works but you need to use another, uninstalling and reinstalling the VyprVPN app may help with that. Reinstall from the VyprVPN apps page or from your device's app store.
-
Check your VyprVPN account's subscription status
- If your subscription lapses, you won't be able to connect.
- Log in here, and select Subscriptions on the left side. If you have an active subscription, it will show up here with the word Active in green text.
- If you don't have an active subscription, you can add one here. If you still have trouble connecting after adding a subscription, try logging out and back in to the VyprVPN app.
